How a small kitchen table became a sanctuary for thousands of creatives
Where It All Began
Betty World started in 2018 with a simple idea: creativity shouldn't feel intimidating. In a world of perfectly curated feeds and endless comparison, we wanted to build a space where making things — imperfectly, joyfully — was celebrated.
Our founder, Betty, began hosting informal craft sessions in her garden shed. Friends brought friends. Word spread. What started as a handful of people learning to throw pots and weave baskets grew into a thriving community of over 50,000 makers.
Today, Betty World is a team of passionate creators, educators, and dreamers. We run workshops across Canada, ship handmade goods worldwide, and publish a weekly blog that reaches readers in over 40 countries.

Betty
Founder & Creative Director
Potter, weaver, and eternal optimist. Betty started Betty World from her shed and still leads most of our pottery workshops.
Maya
Head of Workshops
Former textile designer. Maya develops our curriculum and trains new instructors. She also runs our natural dyeing programme.
James
Operations & Community
James keeps everything running smoothly and loves connecting our community online and in person.
Louise
Content & Blog
Louise writes our weekly blog, manages social media, and creates the recipes and lifestyle content you love.
